This week is all about feeding others. As it should be! I myself can’t wait for my family’s very traditional spread tomorrow. The internet is replete with guides helping you through Thanksgiving prep, so I won’t add to that here. What I will offer is a soup equation.
I find that holidays and extended time with family can lead to a change in routine, which often results in a shift to one’s eating schedule. To guard against hanger, incompatible eating schedules, and to help you spend as little time as possible rummaging through a relatives messy kitchen, I recommend having soup on hand.
This is a flexible equation. You can swap or shift ingredients in and out of it. There are no real amounts here. It’s a loose guide that always ends in the same simple sum; soup.
There are two ways to finish this soup. You can purée it or you can leave it as is, parts suspended in their own atmosphere. If the latter, you'll want to keep that in mind when cutting your vegetables. Choose one size of cut and stick to it. This makes for a pleasant eating experience.
